Join us on May 7, 2025, from 9 AM to noon for the 5th Annual Tech Econference!
The Tech Econference is the University of Toronto’s yearly celebration of undergraduate research work in economics. Hosted by the Department of Economics, the online event will feature seven presentations of ten minutes in length based on papers submitted during the fall 2024 and winter 2025 terms. Founded by Professor Nazanin Khazra, the conference participants engage in a series of workshops prior to presenting their work to ensure a smooth delivery of their research results. The presentation papers were selected from the submission pool by Professor Abdollah Farhoodi.
Newly admitted students, students making specialization decisions, as well as first and second-year economics students are especially encouraged to attend to see examples of undergraduate research completed to high standards.
Associate Chair of Undergraduate Programs, Professor Michael Baker, New College Principal, Professor of Economics Robert Gazzale, Professor Courtney Ward and Professor Ettore Damiano, Chair of the Department of Economics, make up the judging panel for this year’s presentation competition.
While the event is held via Zoom, seats are limited and guests must register via Eventbrite. [Read more…]
