The Department of Economics is pleased to announce the appointment of Kay Saunders to the roles of receptionist and events assistant. Saunders joins the department from the Toronto Campus of Northeastern where they served a four-year appointment as Operations Coordinator. While working at Northeastern, Saunders earned a degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis on Human Resources Management.
Saunders brings skills on onboarding, process creation, and systems implementation to the duals roles they will be responsible for.
“I am a big fan of systems, processes, and keeping as many people on the same page as possible,” Sauders said. “What I would really like to focus on is designing and implementing systems that make life easier and ensure everyone in the department can worry less about the little things.”
Faculty and graduate students who require assistance with facilities access and booking, room set up, digital classroom tools, event planning and actualization, document shipping and receiving, and welcoming guests will find the new staff member at the front desk of Max Gluskin House.
Saunders has found it easy to settle into the department and its culture.
“It’s non-stop and there is no time to get bored,” they said. “I’m really enjoying it here.”
The appointment took effect on 7 October 2025.
