The third session of the Khazra Research Lab seminar series is Friday, 6 March at 4PM in the Max Gluskin House Lounge. Student researchers affiliated with the lab will present updates from their on-going research projects and, in addition, will offer a mini workshop on Synthetic Control methods in Python.
“In the past two seminars, many students showed interest in learning more about the methods,” recalled Professor Nazanin Khazra, founder of the lab. “For this seminar, we will give a brief overview of our projects but spend most of the time on a hands-on Python mini-workshop on one of the causal econometrics methods we use in our research.”
The K.R.L. offers volunteer research assistants hands-on research experience, the opportunity to practice their data analysis and coding skills under exposure to real research questions in economics. Professor Khazra gives each student one-on-one mentorship and guided training. Participants also present their findings and contribute to publication.
