Are you graduating from the University of Toronto in 2026? If you’re about to finish your undergraduate degree with an economics component, you’ll want to register for Backpacks to Briefcases on 26 February 2026 from 5:30 to 8PM at Max Gluskin House (EconHQ) at 150 St. George Street.
Guests will hear from a panel of 3 alumni and moderator Professor Tyler Paul who will discuss how they put their economics degrees to work in industries like finance, tech, consulting and AI. REGISTER HERE.
The Panelists:

Elisa Bozzo, HBA 2005
Elisa graduated from the St Michael’s College on St George Campus in 2005 with an Honour’sBA in Economics and Italian Studies. She has been in tech sales for over 20 years having worked at Salesforce, Meta and Okta. Throughout that time, Elisa has been both an individual contributor and Sales Leader for SMB to Enterprise territories.
Elisa currently leads a Digital Commercial team at Salesforce and lives downtown with her husband and 2 sons. She has stayed close to the UofT alumni community, volunteering and participating in various events over the years.

Brett Lin, BA, 2021
Brett is the founder of @PulseApp, a start up in the space where finance, media and AI intersect.
Prior to starting his firm, he worked as a Finance & Economics Producer, where he translated complex financial and economic concepts into clear, engaging podcasts for accounting and financial professionals. The role combined research, analysis, and storytelling, which bridges technical content with production values that make his episodes practical and easy to listen to.
He is also the founder of of Audilin, a venture exploring how high-quality audio, workflow design, and emerging technology can improve how technical information is distributed and consumed. The idea is centered on designing and engineering scalable, studio-grade workflows for branded audio.

Ritu Sharma, BSc 2000, HBSc 2001
Ritu has worked at Marsh Canada Limited since April 2002 and has specialized in the U.S. Primary Casualty Department since August 2005. Over her extensive tenure, she has developed into a recognized subject matter expert in U.S. Workers’ Compensation, Employers Liability, and U.S. Automobile insurance lines.
Currently, Ritu leads the U.S. Primary Casualty department at Marsh Canada Limited, serving as a national resource for U.S. Workers’ Compensation and U.S. Automobile placements. She is responsible for negotiating and placing insurance
coverage across these lines, managing a diverse portfolio that spans accounts of varying sizes and complexities, including large international clients.
Ritu holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Toronto. She is licensed with a U.S. Brokers License and the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO). Additionally, she earned the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation from the School of Continuing Studies at the University of Toronto, underscoring her commitment to professional development and expertise in risk management.

Moderator, Professor Tyler Paul
Since 2023, Assistant Professor Tyler Paul has been a teaching stream faculty member here at the University of Toronto where he currently teaches Principals of Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Theory and Policy. His research interests are in the fields of macroeconomics and incomplete information.
Professor Paul completed both his PhD and MA in Economics at the University of California.
